October 17, 2019 is International Credit Union Day! Voyage FCU will join 56,000 credit unions across the globe in celebrating the credit union difference.
Let’s Celebrate
We will be celebrating ICU Day in several different ways across our footprint. There will be delicious treats at both our North and Dawley locations all day. Now, for those of you who visit our Main Branch do not worry there will be treats there all day as well as a special event! We will be hosting a Grub & Shred Event at our 3823 S Kiwanis Circle branch from 11am-1pm on October 17, 2019. Bring along any sensitive papers you need to have shredded (for FREE!) and then grab lunch at The Big Orange Truck which will be parking in the cul-de-sac during the same hours (regular menu items will be available for purchase).
There are 200+ million credit union members around the world—more than 100 million in the U.S. alone—and we join them in celebrating the not-for-profit cooperative spirit that all credit unions share.
The Cooperative Spirit
This cooperative spirit has led to life-changing opportunities for people all over the world who’ve wanted to start a small business, own a home or continue their education but were denied access to other financial institutions. In many parts of the world, people’s first taste of democracy is through their credit union, where “one member, one vote” is the governing structure.
At its most basic level, a credit union is people pooling their money to provide each other with affordable loans—it’s literally people helping people. This is why all of us at Voyage FCU celebrate ICU Day. Because credit unions empower people, wherever they are in the world or life, to take control of their financial future.
The public is welcome to stop by our Grub & Shred Event at our Main Branch: 3823 S Kiwanis Circle from 11am-1pm. Join us in celebrating ICU Day and a movement that concerns itself with the financial success of all people.
