Starting, or Starting Over. How to Get Smart About Money.

Thinking about buying a home? Buying a new car? Opening a CD or a Money Market account? Getting into the stock market? Stop. Full stop. Come talk to your Voyage Federal Credit Union staff member first. Whether you are fresh out of high school and looking for a home for your first checking account or fresh out of bankruptcy and figuring out how to start fresh, we want to help you get smart about money. Sadly, there is less talk about money management anymore. Once upon a time, kids in high school used to take home economics and civics classes that taught about writing a check, taking out a credit card, getting your first job and your first house. These classes essentially prepared you, at least a little bit, for how to get your financial footing in life. But, alas, those days are few and far between. Now, kids enter college and walk down halls lined with banks urging them to get a “student credit card” even though this may be the worst possible thing for a young adult who does not know how to handle a high-interest loan.

That’s what Voyage Federal Credit Union is here for. We want to help you figure out which loans, accounts, and other products, services, and tools are right for you, and how to handle them. And if you do get in trouble, we’re here for you then, too. Come see us today, and let’s talk about where you are in your financial journey and how we can help you get, and stay, smart about money.
