How to Start a Business & Entrepreneurial Vision with Sara Rowland at Prairie & Pine Gifting

Headshot of Sara Rowland from Prairie & Pine Gifting

Join us on this episode of Tips for Change as we dive into Sara Rowland's start in business. She is the owner of Prairie & Pine Gifting. Sara discusses how she started her business journey without planning it and how she has grown to love her role. Her story is inspiring for anyone thinking about starting their own business.

Sara started her first business when her children were young. She opened a store over 15 years ago without knowing much about running a business. She learned on the job and ended up creating several successful businesses.

Much of the conversation dives into Sara’s newest business, Prairie & Pine Gifting. Sara started this business during the uncertain times of COVID-19. She wanted to make connections through the art of gifting.

Her drive was partly due to a negative experience with a bank that didn't provide the personal touch she expected. This showed her how important it is to build real relationships with clients like we do with our business partners at Voyage.

Sara also shares the challenges she faced at the beginning, like doubting whether it was too late to start something new. In 2023, over 5.5 million new businesses were started. Sara, with her husband's support and her love for what she does, overcame these doubts. This episode offers a close look at how personal experiences and relationships can deeply influence how you do business.
